The session, CCUS 101, under Massive Earth Fellowship, took place for industry members, VC stakeholders, academicians, and students who wanted to know more about carbon capture, usage, and storage. The audience members got a primer on CCUS technology and how it will play a pivotal role in reducing global carbon emissions.

Carbon Capture, Utilization and Sequestration

CCUS 101 marks the commencement of a series of interactive sessions to break down the emerging trends in Climate Tech through short presentations and panel discussions. The program intends to give the participants a better understanding of the subject matter.

The versatile panel consisted of Mr Samir Shah (Managing Partner, Peak Sustainability Partners), Dr Vikram Vishal (Professor, IIT Bombay), Mr Harsh Jain (Co-Founder, CarbonStrong), and Ms Meenu Saini (Associate Fellow, The Energy and Resources Institute).

  2. CCUS – A path-breaking deep-tech solution to battle rising emissions
  3. A breakdown of ways to capture, use, and store carbon
  4. Role of CCUS in achieving net zero
  5. Emerging trends in CCUS

  7. Market size of CCUS and the startups operating in the CCUS ecosystem

The session’s proceedings transitioned into a panel discussion, with industry experts sharing their perspectives in response to the questions presented by the moderator, Mr Tejinder Miglani. 

During the panel discussion, the members shared their valuable insights on the readiness levels of various CCUS technologies, takeaways for India’s CCUS policy framework, incentivising the production of eco-friendly products to create a vibrant marketplace for their exchange, regulations for the issuance and verification of carbon credits, and much more.
