OVERVIEW

About

Matter is an Ahmedabad-based electric vehicle startup that has introduced India’s first geared electric motorcycle, the Aera. The Aera features a 5 kWh liquid-cooled battery, a four-speed gearbox, and advanced connectivity features like a 7-inch touchscreen with 4G support. Matter emphasizes in-house manufacturing and high localization, with 97% of components sourced domestically. The company plans to scale up production and expand its dealership network across India

Why We Invested?

We invested in Matter due to its innovative approach to electric mobility, particularly in the motorcycle segment, which has been underrepresented in EV adoption. The Aera’s unique features, such as the geared transmission and advanced tech integration, set it apart in the market. Matter’s focus on domestic manufacturing and scalability aligns with our investment strategy of supporting companies that drive sustainable innovation and have the potential for significant market impact.
