Once a B2B player, the company made a sharp pivot to a Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) model, simplifying rooftop solar with end-to-end services, from system design to installation, financing, and post-installation support. In a market long plagued by inefficiencies, SolarSquare is making solar adoption seamless, standardized, and accessible for thousands of Indian homeowners.
Why We Invested?
When we first invested in SolarSquare in 2021, residential solar was less than 1% penetrated in India. We saw a massive opportunity: rising electricity costs, supportive government policies, and a fragmented, underserved market waiting for a better solution. SolarSquare had that solution, and the team to execute it. Their D2C model addressed real pain points: high installation times, unclear pricing, and poor after-sales support. With a strong founder trio and a customer-first approach, SolarSquare was clearly built for scale.
